Each salvation paradigm defines how those who are its most complete incarnations focus their: fears, attention, admiration, worship, technologies, energies, time, resources, dialogue, listening, writing, publishing, propaganda, rituals, adulations, condemnations, criticisms, denunciations, censures, and excommunications. Salvation paradigms may focus attention upon: EGOS DEVILS FALLS SEXUALITY BODIES SPIRITS MONEY ACHIEVEMENTS OWNERSHIP TECHNOLOGIES FACTS OBJECTS RITUALS SCRIPTURES RESEARCH FEARS HOPES ASPIRATION INTEGRITY HONESTY SECURITY DEFENSES SACRIFICE SERVICES PERFECTION IMPERFECTION FAILURES ATONEMENT COMPENSATION INTIMACY SICKNESS HEALTH CONFORMITY WRITERS READERS TEACHERS PROFESSORS BUSINESS MEN WOMEN CHILDREN PARENTS ADULTS ELDERLY DEATH BIRTH REBIRTH LIFE BALANCE FANATICISM COMPULSION EXCLUSION REPRESSIONS PUNISHMENTS SUPPRESSIONS SILENCES NEGLECTS TABOOS PROHIBITIONS PRESCRIPTIONS LAWS JUDGMENTS CONDEMNATIONS RECONCILIATIONS CONFLICTS RESOLUTIONS FORGIVINGNESS PURCHASES APPROPRIATIONS It is not easy to sort out whether or not each focus leads to personal and communal integrity, or to personal and communal disintegration. The distinction is not always clear cut and often depends upon context, intentions, expectations and other considerations. We need to observe, name, describe and talk about the patterns which we see in regards to each possible focus of a salvation paradigm. We will do well to judge each salvation paradigm by how it leads its most complete incarnations into lives of personal and communal integrity, or into lives of personal and communal disintegration. Such judgments are disintegrative if they are dishonest and pretentious. Such judgments are rarely wise if they take at face value the predictions and claims of extremists who set themselves up as more worthy than others---prone to promote arrogance, excommunications and alienation.
