Compulsively objective scientists seek to develop thoroughly integrated technical systems with fully coherent technical relationships among their objective parts---but they do not equally seek to promote personal and communal integrity. Compulsively objective efforts to understand the totality of the objective universe (in terms of a carefully devised human conception of scientific laws which describe all the objective relationships among all the natural elements) have progressed beyond reasonable limits---without there being a parallel and equal balancing effort to promote both personal and communal integrity within the scientific community; and a clear understanding of the nature of the scientific community within its wider supportive public community. The processes which are central to personal and communal integrity are reflexive processes, which are not objective, and so are taboo processes to the compulsively objective scientists who are addicted to pure research which is devoid of concerns about personal and communal integrity. Scientists who are addicted to compulsively objective pure research are participants in a paradigm which entails collusive games of mutual self deception regarding presumed transcendence of all bias through compulsive objectivity. To be good scientists who are worthy of acceptance within their scientific community, they seek to be pure researchers who are free of non-objective behaviors. Since they are free of non-objective reflexive behaviors they do not know the experience of true love's unconditional acceptance into meaningful personal dialogue. Due to their reflexive ignorance they are personally insecure and lack healthy self esteem. People who are insecure and lack healthy self esteem seek to find fixes by which to compensate for what they feel they lack. The processes of seeking and experimenting with such compensatory fixes are the processes of addicts and codependents. The processes of pure research of compulsively objective scientists are reflexive processes which they engage in as they experiment with compensatory reflexive fixes for their lack of the experience of true love's unconditional acceptance into meaningful personal dialogue. They are trying to fix their defective self esteem through the purely objective procedures of pure research, because they addictively believe that only compulsively objective people who are fully in control through fully objective understandings are worthy of acceptance. Compulsively objective scientists are seeking to fulfill themselves through perfection in objective procedures of understanding, predicting and controlling the objective elements of the universe; including themselves. Seeking perfection and the power to be in control as means to improved self esteem are central characteristics of addicts and codependents. The motivations of compulsively objective scientists are reflexive motivations; not objective motivations. In fact all motives are reflexive; even the motives of compulsive objectivists are reflexive in character. Compulsively objective scientists do not see their own non-objective reflexivity, because of the collusive games of mutual self deception in which they participate in their effort to be perfectly objective---so as to achieve personal acceptance by being in objective control other people's impressions of them as good scientists. To be good scientists worthy of acceptance within their scientific community they seek to be pure researchers who are free of non-objective behaviors. The scientists' compulsively objective paradigm does not provide integrative personal guidance to the scientists who are the most respected incarnations of the paradigm. Because the paradigm focuses attention exclusively upon the value of objectivity and impersonal manipulations and understandings, the paradigm excludes timely consideration of the values of personal and communal integrity, and of the personal and communal processes of open and honest dialogue which are essential to personal and communal integrity. Thus the paradigm promotes alienation and the disintegration of personal and communal integrity through the decay of open and honest personal intimacy, emotions, affection, expressions and dialogue; all of which are essential to the secure vulnerability which characterizes meaningful living with mysteriously healthy self esteem which is a true miracle.
