The roles played by the two elements of reality, observer and observed, are (in the objective way) objectively different. The observer plays an active role with superior power to make decisions and set up conditions under which other elements are to go through their thoughtless processes. The observed elements in the drama make no decisions, take no initiatives and leave no feelings. They follow a predestined script which is entirely predictable. The actors in an objective drama do not play equal roles; the experimenter/observer clearly plays a superior role, the observed elements clearly play inferior roles. Objective experimenters relate to their objects objectively with superior power and become accustomed to playing the superior role in relationships with objects. In the absence of personal training in the dynamics of entering into personal relationships which are not objective, such objective experimenters are naturally likely to relate to people in a manner taken from the manner in which they relate in most of their relations with other elements of reality, how they relate to the powerless objects which are manipulated in their experiments. Thus objectivity is likely to dominate relationships among the experimenters, and they are not likely to have overtly developed personal ways of dealing with power conflicts among themselves. They are not likely to have a paradigm for promoting personal and communal integrity in ways which demonstrate justice in the exercises of power. When manipulated, non-personal objects do not show resentment, frustration, and alienation; the way in which personal objects do. Dealing with personal elements of reality in the manner in which one deals with non-personal elements of reality leads to different kinds of responses than in the case of non-personal elements. Integrity is disintegrated when people are treated without personal respect and integrity. (c) 2005 by Paul A.
