People who do not enjoy such contexts tend to become frustrated and violent because they are alone in the crowded ways of life. The society which responds to such peoples' needs by further excluding them from the community thereby reduces the community, and so destroys itself. Prisons tend to destroy community because they inhibit dialogue which might give meaning and satisfaction to those who have acted out their frustrations of alienation. Not all prisons are made of bricks, stones, and bars. Many prisons are made of psycho-social rituals of disaffirmation of people's significance---rituals which undermine their significance as decisive actors in the human drama. People who become aware of their insignificance within the context of psycho-social rituals of disaffirmation---seek ways to break out of their psycho- social prisons. They decide to rebel against the people and society which thus imprisons them---to show that they are capable of decisive action which is uniquely theirs. Because their society will not grant them places of significance within the social context of the society, such persons must seek significance outside the social context---in anti-social behavior. When the society grants them positions of significance within the social context, such people will no longer need to act anti- socially to try to escape their psycho-social prisons. Elitist groups which are granted power tend to become exclusive and institute psycho-social rituals which imprison the majority of people who are members of the minorities defined by the elitist groups. Thus such elitist groups work to destroy their community. The technocrats who do this go further, and provide the rebels which they create with the tools to express the frustration in decisive acts of violence against the society which imprisons people in psycho-social prisons of meaningless insignificance and frustration.
