There is no logical connection between great technical power and wisdom in selecting technical goals. Technical power does not enable people to wisely select technical goals, or enable people to recognize when technical goals are inappropriate; i.e., when technical coping is inappropriate. Some situations do NOT call for technical coping. They call for perceiving contexts in the light of love and for the facilitation of: human trust, openness, honesty, vulnerability, communication, union, community, etc. Such facilitation is not essentially technical in nature. Technical power is often blind to the humane ways which facilitate the perception of contexts in the light of love. Compulsive technical knee- jerking obscures the contexts and blocks the light of love. Compulsive technical knee-jerking thus undermines communication and the health of the community as a whole, and so the health of the members of the community. A community as a whole is healthy when there is free communication within the community---when the whole is aware of the whole, and no part is singled out to be a part, apart and separate. When a community analyzes itself into separated parts that are isolated for some reason---the communications of the community declines and it ceases to be healthy. It may become dominated by love blinded the technical power that operates very logically in keeping with the analysis of the community into its constituent parts, each of which is a part, separated. Each part may then be judged for its failure to be an integral part of the whole, contributing its proper share to the welfare of the rest---defined in analytic, individualistic terms---which are logically consistent with the disintegrative analysis of the community. The educational process which trains members of a community to be technical specialists---tends to be a process which makes them love blind. The training process gives little attention to the dynamics, power, and ways of love. The process is not concerned with contextual understanding, the dynamics of informal communication, alienation, reconciliation, and understanding. The process of specialization tends to separate communication as a specialty among specialties, a matter which is of no concern to any but the specialists in communication.
