Through compulsively objective dedications they fall into the bias of being exclusively in anti-personal relationships. If one does not care about bias at all, one may make favorable judgments about oneself due to conflicts of interest when engaged in reflexive consideration; or, in over-compensation one may make unfavorable judgments about oneself. It is often the case that self-assessment is unreliable due to conflicts of interest. There is a need to find a way to transcend the bias due to such conflicts of interest. Compulsively objective people seek to transcend that bias by always avoiding reflexive behavior, or by pretending to do so. Avoiding reflexive behavior is not the only possible way to transcend the disintegrative consequences of conflicts of interest in reflexive behavior. An integrative dedication to behaving in integrative ways regarding reflexive considerations---is another way to help transcend th disintegrative consequences of conflicts of interest in reflexive considerations; especially if the dedication is entered into mutually in integrative ways with many other members of community which is dedicated to promoting both personal integrity and communal integrity. Such a dedication will not be exclusive in regards to any other integrative dedication, for to be so would be inconsistent with the essence of the integrative dedication. Objectivity is counter-productive as a way of avoiding bias in reflexive considerations. High levels of immature emotions are also counter-productive as a way of avoiding bias. Integrative values and ideals can lead the way in finding how to use complementary ways to avoid bias in contextually appropriate manners. Neither objectivity nor emotions can lead the other appropriately, for neither offers transcendent values and ideals in terms of which to recognize when the other is more appropriate than it is itself. Neither objectivity nor emotions provide criteria for assessment of transcendent worth with appropriate contextual consideration. Consider instead a dedication to both personal and communal integrity. (c) 2005 by Paul A. Smith in (On Being Yourself, Whole and Healthy) ==========================================================
