Expecting to fly without wings upon jumping off of a tall building does not make it happen. In objective relationships humans do not by expecting something to happen thereby make it happen. Objective relationships are characterized by a detachment between humans and the realities which are central to the relationships. That very detachment insures that human expectations are not determinative in the relationships which are being considered. Some people are professionally objective people. They study many objective relationships, taking care to approach the relationships with detached attitudes and manners. Their manner of approach to some relationships is objective; however, they do not approach all relationships in an objective manner, for that is impossible. People can not approach relationships in which they are participants in a truly objective manner. A scientist can not approach his own activities, thoughts, feelings, and personal relationships truly objectively; since the scientists can not be truly detached from them. No person can be a truly objective person all of the time. One can approach some relationships objectively; however, one can not approach all relationships truly objectively, and so can not be a truly objective person all of the time. People can not be truly objective any more than people can be inorganic. Not even the person who is thoroughly dedicated to being objective all of the time can approach that dedication truly objectively. In interpersonal professional relationships it is often the case that people realize their expectations by behaving in non-objective ways. Such realizations are expected and regarded as normal. It is foolish to expect to be objective in interpersonal professional relationships, for such expectations can not be realized no matter how hard we try. Such expectations of objectivity do not realize themselves because objectivity is impossible in interpersonal relationships. Nevertheless, many personal expectations do play major roles in many interpersonal relationships, and so make it impossible for participants to study their interpersonal relationships truly objectively and without bias.
