Good scientists are always objective. Being subjective is not being objective. Good scientists are never subjective. It is bad to be subjective. Jack has been a good scientist. Jack is becoming concerned about science teaching. Jack is concerned about Jill as a person struggling with science. Jack is getting subjectively involved with Jill as a subject. Jack is not treating Jill as an object! Jack is lapsing into subjective behavior. Jack is not being objective all the time. Good scientists are never subjective. Jack is no longer a good scientist. Jack will be punished. Jack did not get tenure. Jack used to be a good scientist, better than I can hope to be. Jack got involved in trying to improve science teaching. Because Jack got subjectively involved with students, Jack stopped being a good scientist. Jack is no longer with us. I can not hope to be better than Jack was. I better not take the risk of trying to improve science teaching. I will focus my attention on pure research and publishing. The good students will survive without my sympathy and concern. The best of them will become known as good teachers. Since only the best students will be able to survive, Future teachers will be better than today's teachers. There really is no need to try to improve science teaching. Those that are fit to teach will survive as good scientists. (c) 2005 by Paul A.
