A person (or some persons) who is (or are) NOT well- integrated participating member(s) of a community (in time and place) cannot unilaterally write for a community --- a law or system of laws which will certainly facilitate/promote personal-and-communal-integrity in the separate community; i.e., apart from the writer(s). 1. ANCIENT people cannot have created a law or system of laws which will certainly facilitate/promote personal and communal integrity in our community which is separated from them in time and place. Ancient laws cannot be eternally valid for all cultures, times and places. 2. Modern people of one distinct culture cannot create a law or system of laws which will certainly facilitate/promote personal and communal integrity in our time in a DIFFERENT/CONTRASTING community which is separated from them by significant cultural, educational, scholarly, religious, political, and/or economic differences. Laws we conceive and write cannot transcend all cultural differences. 3. Modern people of one distinct culture cannot create a law or system of laws which will certainly facilitate/promote personal and communal integrity in a FUTURE time and place in a different/contrasting community which is separated from them by significant cultural, educational, scholarly, religious, political, and/or economic differences. Laws we conceive and write cannot be eternally "good" laws. God is not any one law or any perfected system of laws. Domineering people often act as if God is some one law or a few laws --- which only they are qualified to interpret. Such domineering people, and those who follow such domineering people, often engage in idolatrous patterns of behavior --- worshipping that which is not God. Being ultimately concerned about that which is not God, is idolatry. Idolatry leads to personal and communal disintegrations. (c) 2005 by Paul A.
