If we fear the illuminating truths which might set us free of our collusive games of mutual self-deception --- we are likely to intensify our individual and collective enforcements of the hidden rules of our games of mutual self deception --- whenever we become dimly aware of the beginning flickers of the light of such truths which are seen dimly in a dirty mirror which we regard as the doorway to hell. We are likely to hide any small candle which we may accidentally light. We need to be careful of what we do when we are tempted (individually and/or collectively) to hide any small candle which we may have accidentally lighted --- unaware of our collusive rules against lighting small candles which might undermine the "integrity" of our collusive games of mutual self deception. We may accidentally light small candles when we let our curiosity lead us too far into the dangerous dark rooms of intimacy and sexuality with people whom we have learned to trust --- because of their integrity which is not based upon conformity. When that happens --- should we hide the newly lighted small candle? We may accidentally light small candles when we begin to doubt that we should really trust certain people --- because of their being: coercive, dishonest, manipulative and unbalanced leaders of our collusive games of mutual self deception. When that happens --- should we hide the newly lighted small candle? We may accidentally light small candles when we begin to think new thoughts on our own --- rather than just recite old thoughts of old and/or ancient people whom we have long unwittingly trusted as unquestioned great authorities. When that happens --- should we hide the newly lighted small candle? How are we to tell the difference between newly lighted small candles, and evil thoughts --- if we are so full of fear that we cannot and/or do not honestly tell each other about our own desires, experiences, joys, pleasures, pains, fears, doubts, thoughts, insights, and enlightening acceptances of new revelations --- which come to us mysteriously in revolutionary ways which we cannot control? How can we tell each other the differences we see between newly lighted small candles, and evil thoughts --- if we live always in the absence of true security known and enjoyed through the exchange of free gifts of the freedom to be safely vulnerable in open and honest intimate relationships? Can we reasonably hope to hear each other clearly in the absence of such true security? How are we to approach each other in ways which will lead us to be willing to freely exchange gifts of the freedom to be safely vulnerable in open and honest intimate relationships? How are we to transcend our defensive approaches? Our manipulative use of resources? Our fears of where Love might lead us? Do we really believe that God is Love? If not, why not? (c) 2005 by Paul A.
