Within the person and community which DOES NOT enjoy personal and communal integrity---some of the many aspects and facets ARE NOT well integrated into a healthy whole. The absence of the enjoyment of personal and communal integrity often entails an UNBALANCED EMPHASIS upon some of the aspects or facets of the WHOLE life of a person and community of integrity. Often an essential aspect or facet receives no attention through simple neglect; or through the operation of collusive games of mutual self deception and through addictive fixations upon some aspects or facets---to the exclusion of others. In some communities the emphasis is upon the physical aspects of human sexuality---to the exclusion of any emphasis upon reflexive, psychological, spiritual, and communal aspects of healthy sexuality. It is not that what is emphasized should receive no attention. It is rather that the emphasis is unbalanced and exclusive. Too often attention is focused upon only one facet or aspect of human sexuality---and armies of combatants engage in disintegrative conflicts which focus only upon that one facet. The combatants agree to focus upon only one facet---to the exclusion of other facets. They are not fighting about whether or not to seek balance. They are fighting about which extreme position is the RIGHT POSITION---given their agreement that only one facet of the whole is of ultimate importance; e.g., the physical aspects of human sexuality. They are not seeking to GET TO YES in conflict resolution. They are seeking victory for their position in the conflict. In the process both sides promote personal and communal disintegration.
