They explore new possibilities of being whole and healthy within new and renewing communal contexts---and describe their adventures to help others follow their leads. Participants in collusions and addictive fixations are often fearful of the possible consequences of the thoughts, behaviors and expressions of integrative explorers---and so they fearfully object to and/or seek to prevent such thoughts, behaviors and/or expressions. Collusive and addictive people fear that their patterns of dishonesty will be exposed by integrative revolutions. Spiritual explorations are not stuck in the past and the texts of the past. Spiritual explorers build upon the experiences and reports of past explorers---but they do not limit themselves to perpetually re-visiting only the experiences and reports of past explorers. Spiritual explorers write new texts telling of new revelations which have come to them, enveloped them, and led them into new experiences which transcend those of past explorers. They do not regard such transcendence as being an affront to the courageous contributions made by past spiritual explorers---for they respect those contributions without worshipping them in idolatrous ways. Spiritual explorers are dedicated to being true to themselves and each other within integrative communities which nurture personal integrity. They work to transcend and resolve conflicts---rather than to celebrate the tenacity and sacrifices of ancestors who courageously initiated and/or perpetuated such conflicts. They seek to discern and articulate new ideas, ideals and values which are integrative---rather than disintegrative. They seek to live in integrative ways, rather than in disintegrative ways. They seek to be the incarnation of integrative ways of being and living with integrity within integrative communities. They do not celebrate their own particular individualism, independence, self-sufficiency, or invulnerability. The adventures of spiritual explorers are not determined by objective realities and geographic places; even though objective realities and geographic places provide settings within which spiritual explorers live with integrity. Spiritual explorers describe new adventures in reflexive relationships which transcend exclusively objective considerations. To do so they use traditional language in new ways to point to new ways of being true to themselves and each other. Not all people can perceive what they point to, and so doubt the accuracy of their descriptions. (c) 2005 by Paul A.
