Due to perpetual alienation many people: 1. Never feel fully free and secure to be fully honest with anybody. 2. Are always dominated by fear, tension, anxiety and defensiveness. 3. Do not remember ever having experienced reliable true love. 4. Are not free to be true to self and others in a truly intimate and healthy personal relationship. People who have experienced true salvation have experienced the transcendence of perpetual alienation. Such people have received the gifts of: 1. True security which is the real freedom to be safely vulnerable in being fully honest with people of integrity within a community of integrity. 2. Transcendence of fear, tension, anxiety and defensiveness---and so they enjoy freedom from fear, tension, anxiety and defensiveness. 3. Clear memories of integrative experiences of true love which they honestly feel they can rely on in times of crisis and need. 4. Regularly being free to be true to self and others in diverse, truly intimate and healthy personal relationships. People who are trapped in perpetual alienation are terrified as opportunities for liberation from alienation approach in their lives. Their paradigms are full of doubts, fears, distrust, defensiveness, insecurity, striving, tension, contention, coercion, manipulation, violence and disintegration. They doubt the power of love to transcend perpetual alienation---to transcend the pervasive features of their paradigms which take alienation for granted---and seek to make the best of alienation through manipulations. People who are trapped in perpetual alienation cannot conceive of the possibility of anybody transcending all that dominates their lives and paradigms---doubts, fears, distrust, defensiveness, insecurity, striving, tension, contention, coercion, manipulation, violence and disintegration. Much less can they conceive of the possibility that they themselves might transcend all that dominates their lives and paradigms. Thus they do not conceive, generate and give birth to, such a transcendence. People who are trapped in perpetual alienation do not distinguish between "transcendence" and "overcoming". For them both "transcendence" and "overcoming" must have to do with such as: "overwhelming", "defeating", "frustrating", "thwarting", "foiling", "stymieing", "checkmating". They cannot conceive of "transcendence" as involving a true paradigm shift, which entails radical shifts in: assumptions, questions, attitudes, beliefs, convictions, ideals, values, principles, words used, tools used, reasoning, logic, communications, relationships, concerns, etc. People who are trapped in perpetual alienation take for granted that the alienative landscape of life cannot and will not change---but they believe that within the alienative landscape of life they can get ahead through their greater: intelligence, cleverness, luck, opportunities, connections, networking, alliances, efforts, resources, sciences, technologies, powers, etc. Getting ahead just requires advantageous manipulations. Salvation is the transcendence of perpetual alienation through the works of Love which has the power to help people who are trapped in perpetual alienation to have faith which frees them from their doubts regarding the power of Love to promote reconciliation and liberation. Those who know love through the experience of salvation---say that God is Love with the power to conceive the transcendence of all that promotes alienation. Those who have not known love through the experience of salvation---doubt the power of Love to transcend evil. They try to destroy evil in alienative ways---and so they create evil relationships of perpetuated alienation. (c) 2005 by Paul A.
