The focus here is upon the ALIENATIVE way in which labels are defined and used. Our focus needs to be shifted away from the behaviors and reputations of the victims of the Christian labelers, to the ALIENATIVE way in which Christian labelers define and use their mean labels. ALIENATION is the essence of evil. The focus here is upon the evil way in which labels are defined and used. It does nobody any good to deny that the people upon whom alienative labels are placed by Christian labellers often have acted in ways which do not merit respect or support; and in ways which are often alienative of others. Similarly---it does nobody any good to deny that the ways in which Christian labelers use their mean labels do not merit respect or support. Both kinds of behaviors should be recognized for what they are---the fruits of alienation. Such alienative behaviors need to be: (1) recognized for what they are and do, (2) named, and (3) talked about openly, honestly and charitably. Christian labelers and those whom they have harmed are in need of reconciliation through openness, honesty, requests for forgiveness, the offering of forgiveness, and the acceptance of forgiveness as a free gift--- freely offered and freely received, without payment asked, offered, or taken. Christian labelers and those whom they have harmed through mean labeling are insecure and in need of free gifts of security---known as the freedom to be safely vulnerable in communities of personal and communal integrity. Christian labelers---lack personal integrity. Christian addictive manipulators---lack security and integrity. Christians who are compulsively fixated upon quoting scriptures---lack security and integrity. Christians fixated upon legalistic codes of moral and ethical conduct---lack security and integrity. Christians fixated upon their carefully chosen fundamentals of being superior to others---lack security and integrity. Christian codependent supporters of various forms of manipulative addictions---lack security and integrity. Christian managers of addictive organizations---lack security and integrity. Christian manipulative evangelists---lack security and integrity. Christians who compulsively excel in conforming to moral and ethical laws---lack security and integrity. Christians who are sure, sure, sure---of what doctrines God approves of---lack security and integrity. Christians who are sure, sure, sure---that they will be at the head of the line of people getting into heaven---lack security and integrity. Christians who are sure, sure, sure---of how other people should behave---lack security and integrity. We cannot give to people who lack integrity, the integrity which they lack. We can offer people who lack security and integrity free gifts of security which they can know as the freedom to be safely vulnerable in our presence. Then they may honestly seek to be true to themselves, and to others in our presence; and so hopefully come to enjoy both personal and communal integrity. We are true followers of Christ-the-true- nonconformist when we engage in truly love-full acts as he did; but not so when we say conformal things which make us merely appear to be good and worthy of acceptance.
