     We  are  bound to be ill-at-ease and dis-eased if  we
have  within  us conflicts between internalized  affective
messages  about how to be accepted,  acceptable and loved;
and  how  to  be true to ourselves and  others.    If  our
intellect, reasoning, and cognitive processes tell us that
our  experiences  indicate  the truth to be  one  kind  of
reality,    and our affective experiences  of   acceptance
and  rejection  tell us that being true to  ourselves  and
others  will   lead   to  us  into  being   misunderstood,
rejected    and alienated---then  we cannot be people  and
communities of integrity.    It is not enough to attend to
intellectual,  rational  and cognitive processes---we must
balance  such  attention   with  attention  to   affective
processes  and  relationships  between people,   including
