They play collusive games of mutual self deception to conceive and give birth to their worlds of black and white separated by narrow lines, and to mutual judgmental discriminations---which alienate the members of the two worlds so that they cannot communicate or resolve conflicts. In the dichotomous worlds of alienated people it is easy to see each person as either enemy or friend; and those who are not clearly either, are suspected of being enemy. In the dichotomous world the rule is that when you are in doubt you should be skeptical, and probably cynical. In the dichotomous worlds of skeptical people analysis and fragmentation leads to the judgement that whatever is not required is not permitted; because so much is required which is ultimately important that there is no time or energy left to devote to anything else. To devote time, energy, money, and other resources upon activities which are not important enough to be required --- is to neglect the duty to seek perfection in the performance of all that is ultimately important and is therefore required. In the sterile halls of the best graduate schools of objective scientists the study of objects and objective relationships is regarded as ultimately important. In the dichotomous worlds of their fragmentive analysis of all objects---all that is required of students has to do with fragmentation, analysis, control, manipulations, measurements, computations, objectivity and clearly supportive considerations. There is no time left for the consideration of reflexive personal human relationships in which boundaries are utterly complex like the boundaries between colors in fractal images. That which is not required is not permitted, because of the press of duties to concentrate all available time and energy upon what is required. Balance is not required. Being true to self and others about personal relationships is not required. Personal and communal integrity are not required. Because of the press of duties to concentrate all available time and energy upon what is required-- -graduate students find that balance, reflexive truths and integrity are not permitted.
