Such belief flies in the face of the fact that alienation is a reflexive/relational reality. Individuals do not cause alienation. Alienation is a kind of development in a relationship within which there are at least two participants. Alienation is the result of team work. There is alienation when there is cooperation in generating alienation. Alienation is not an objective reality at heart. At heart alienation is a reflexive relational reality. Participants in alienative processes cannot be indifferent to the process; cannot be objective about it. Thus, the objective paradigm is ill-suited to leading wise considerations regarding alienative processes. We cannot understand, predict or control alienative processes through the leadership of objective experts or beliefs. If we are to cope with the dilemmas and tragedies of alienative processes we must seek wisdom in healthy people who are integrative leaders in reflexive relational processes; not in people who are technocratic leaders in objective processes full of unresolved, un-addressed conflicts. Unresolved conflicts are often associated with alienation. People who are involved in relationships which are full of unresolved conflicts are typically involved in alienative processes. Many of their beliefs are held in common and generate cooperation in behaving so as to maintain the conflicts; rather than so as to resolve the conflicts. Addictive people work to prolong conflicts and insecurity because within the contexts of them people can be manipulated far more easily than within the context of peace, security, tranquility and conflict resolution. People who believe that they should be in control so that there is conformity to good standards of behavior, are thus prone to undermine conflict resolution; and prone to promote crises and conflicts so that they have an easier time of trying to control the victims of the crises and conflicts. Dishonesty plays a central role in maintaining the appearance of the control which they feel must be maintained---because control cannot really be maintained honestly. Dishonesty plays a central role in perpetuating conflicts, crises and alienation. When people are being dishonest with each other---conflicts, crises and alienation are sure to be present; for coherent cooperative behaviors are impossible in the presence of systemic dishonesty. A little bit of dishonesty leads to more dishonesty to cover up the original dishonesty; thus dishonesty grows exponentially according to the law of exponential growth which is proportional to the fruits of previous growth. If people agree that dishonesty is a useful tool of manipulation---they cooperate in manipulating each other in alienative ways which perpetuate their conflicts and crises. Their alienative relationships are cooperative relationships; not objective examples of cause and effect which they can view without bias from a detached perspective. (c) 2005 by Paul A.
