What we need, desire, want and covet; depends upon who we are and how we conceive who we are. Our being depends upon our beginnings; how we start being who we are: with what assumptions, beliefs, convictions; families, friends associates; relationships, connections, and communities. Do we want, desire, need, covet and seek our fulfillment---in seeking, looking, finding and discovering---objects, things, substances, people, places, and relationships---which are apart from us, outside us, other than us---and which we can get, take, steal, rob, acquire, buy, purchase, have, own, hold, and keep---to fix what is wrong, lacking, incomplete and imperfect within our selves being who we are, what we assume, and what we believe? Do we honestly create, invent, develop, conceive, nurture and encourage---ourselves, each other and our relationships---through interactions, dialogue, listening, conversations, conversions, relating, involvements, participations, gifts, receptions and acceptance---of ourselves and each other within open and honest families, homes, friendships, associations, communities, cities, states and nations? Do we envision our fulfillment in terms of control, ownership, possession, having, holding, and managing that which is other than us---or in terms of cooperating with others like us who are independent beings---seeking like us to be joyful within open and honest families, homes, friendships, associations, communities, cities, states and nations? Do we seek to deal with conflicts by settling them on terms which we (as individuals and groups) decide upon independently---or by cooperating with other who are participants in representing conflicting ideals, values, goals, needs, and desires---as embodiments of them honestly seeking to resolve them creatively and cooperatively with personal and communal integrity? Do we conceive ourselves to be permanent beings who are somehow perfected to be forever in some state of unchanging perfection---or as manifestations of personal relationships which are perpetually growing, changing and becoming new and different? Do we try to control ourselves, each other, and other things; according to some systematic plan, program or requirements---or are we content in being ourselves openly and honestly with each other in mutually satisfying relationships of risk, trust, and growing friendship? The nature of our lives depend upon the nature of our conceptions of who we are, what we need, and how we relate to others in seeking to fulfill our mutual needs with joy. What we need, desire, want and covet; depends upon who we are and how we conceive who we are. Our beings depend upon our beginnings; how we start being who we are: with what assumptions, beliefs, convictions; families, friends associates; relationships, connections, and communities.
