Yet rules, laws and moral codes which focus upon individual actions fail to grasp the importance of the inter-relationships between various actions/inactions. Often it is not the individual actions/inactions which reveal the integrity, of a person; but rather the whole pattern of a persons actions/inactions which reveal the integrity of a person---or the lack thereof. Often is is not so much what is done, as what is not done which reveals the integrity of a person---or the lack thereof. Often individual people are judged and rejected because of what they as individual people have done in violation of respected rules, laws and moral codes; with an emphasis upon their individual actions. Yet, it is often the relationships between the individuals and their actions/inactions which reveal the integrity of the persons; through the patterns of open and honest intimacy, dialogue, listening and cooperation---or of rejection, alienation and estrangement. Much is lost if the context of each person's actions is ignored in making assessments of integrity and disintegration. Often the context of an individual person's actions/inaction is not fully understood unless the context is understood in terms of the full range of communities which define the individual person's context. Much is lost in an assessment if there is ignorance of the full set of communities which define the person's context. The meaning and significance of a person's actions depends in large part upon the communal contexts within which the person acts or fails to act. Moral codes, codes of ethics, legal rules and regulations cannot in any realistic way define what is truly good and what is truly evil; because they neglect to be open and honest about the full range of considerations which are essential to a true assessment of the meaning and significance of the pattern of a person's actions and inactions.
