The causative factor exists as some kind of living organism which has invaded the body of the patient and is disrupting its proper function; or some genetic impropriety has lead to improper functioning of the body; or some chemical ingested has disrupted proper functioning. In any case the focus of attention is internal to the body of the ill patient. The disease may affect relationships between the patient and others. These effects are regarded as being caused by what is happening inside the patient. Being ill at ease follows. There are situations in which what happens inside a patient may more helpfully be viewed as being caused by diseased relationships which involve and affect the patient. There may be factors which have disrupted the proper inter-relationships of the patient with other people who play significant roles in the patient's life. The disintegration of inter-personal relationships may have profound consequences upon the health of a person--- and trigger what may be commonly regarded as a disease inside a patient due to the dis-ease of the context in which the patient was living. Being ill-at-ease can cause dis-ease. A wholistic health maintenance program involves helping members of the community be well-at-ease in cooperative ventures---where conflicts among ideals are resolved with a minimum of coercion, manipulation, losing, alienation, estrangement, etc. When some people win ideological conflicts at the expense of other people losing ideological conflicts---diseased relationships and human disease often follow. Coercion and violence do not contribute to conflict resolution very often. Coercion and violence do not promote personal and communal integrity very well, and so do not help people be well at ease.
