This is one meaning of the word "realize". The word "realize" may be used in another way. To realize something as a possibility is to make real in practice that which was previously perceived only in vision, hope, fantasy, reverie, desire, etc. Such realization will be perceived as a miracle to one who has not previously perceived it in the above meaning of the word "realize". That is miraculous which was not previously realized as something which was possible. The person who realizes something as possible by personally being and action is a miracle worker to those who have not been aware of the possibilities in vision, hope, fantasy, reverie, desire, etc. Miracles are the transcendence of taboos and collusions which regulate the realization of human possibilities, taboos and collusions which make impossible the expressions of human creativity, love, and integrity. Such transcendence is mysterious to those trapped in the regulation of taboos and collusions. It will engender fear and aversion, and defensive measures against the prophetic miracle workers. The prophet is abused in the home country because the prophet foretells the fall of taboos and collusions which inhibit the expression of human possibilities, inhibitions in the service of the status quo powerful whom the prophet calls into question. Profound questions threaten the power of taboos and collusions and their powerful supporters. Taboos and collusions must repress lover, power and justice to continue to regulate the realization of human possibilities; and so must regulate the behavior of prophets prone to ask profound threatening questions. The function of a liberal education is to undermine the debilitating regulation of human possibilities by evil collusions and taboos which alienate people from the fulfillment of their most creative possibilities.
