The first step towards true and wise worship is to recognize the futility of false and foolish worship of creatures of human creativity wether made of matter, ideas, ideals or human relationships. False/unwise worship often entails differentiation; worshipers thanking their god for how much better they are than those other people from which the worshipers differentiate themselves. Such worshipers often worship the ideas, ideals and relationships in terms of which they feel that they can justify themselves before the god of their creation as being better than other people from whom they have alienated themselves. Such worship leads to the disintegration of personal and communal integrity and so may be recognized as false/unwise worship. True and wise worshipers are not proud of the conflicts and alienative factors which separate them from other living creatures. Pride in such conflicts and alienative factors stands in the way of understanding which is essential to true human fulfillment. Such pride undermines communication which is essential to personal and communal integrity. Pride in conflict leads to violent conflict and ultimate disintegration of all that is worthy of genuine pride. (c) 2005 by Paul A.
