Human relationships may be "measured" as regards their degree of subjectivity and as regards their degree of objectivity. These measures are complementary to each other. To the extent to which one has perfected the characterization of the objective aspects of a relationship---one knows little if anything about the subjective character of the relationship; conversely, to the extent to which one has perfected the characterization of the subjective character of the relationship one knows little about the objective aspects of the relationship. Choices are made. Human relationships may be "measured" as regards the meaning of their integrity and as regards their internal structure. These measures are complementary to each other. To the extent to which one has perfected the characterization of the meaning of the relationship---one knows little if anything about the internal structure of the relationship; conversely, to the extent to which one has perfected the characterization of the internal structure of the relationship one knows little about the meaning of the relationship. Choices are made. The most complete characterization of a human relationship is one which does not presume to perfect the measure of any complementary aspect of the relationship; but rather strikes a balance between emphases upon complementary aspects of the relationship. Evaluation of and valuing of relationships flow from explicit or implicit characterizations of relationships; thus flow from tendencies to seek perfected or balanced characterizations with respect to complementary aspects of the relationships. Relationships which are highly valued for being perfected in terms of an exclusive measure of any one complementary aspect---are likely to be relationships which lack integrity, and so be characterized as relatively meaningless.
