Alienation and evil relationships flow from emphasizing considerations which do not include respect for open and honest dialogue about what is unique to each person and each person's experience. No matter how respectable each of a set of considerations may be individually---they will be alienative/evil when respected together in the absence of respect for open and honest dialogue about what is unique to each person. Attempting to achieve "transcendence" by focusing ONLY upon what is "universal" and "general" will lead to doing violence to the integrity of unique persons and communities --- who are growing and changing in healthy, and creative ways which promote both personal and communal integrity. IDEAL FORMS are not unique. Focusing ONLY upon IDEAL FORMS of behavior does violence to unique creative people who do not conform themselves to articulated IDEAL FORMS. The essence of that which is good is not to be found in coercive conformity to ideal forms --- for emphasizing conformity is bound to lead to violence. We cannot control evil by emphasizing conformity to good ideal forms --- in the absence of balanced emphasis upon the importance of giving and accepting gifts of the freedom to be safely vulnerable in open and honest dialogue about what is unique to each person. Specialization in emphasis leads to imbalance and so to personal and communal disintegration. Specialists often lack integrity --- and so we should always beware of granting uncritical respect to specialists who are unaware of how unbalanced they are. Ignorance flows from unbalanced specialization in the absence of open and honest dialogue --- with unique people who differ from us in important ways ---- which complement us in ways which will help to make us whole people/communities of integrity.
