Rarely in terms of the affirmations of the ideals, values, principles, rules, laws, regulations and principles of a dominant paradigm or its personal incarnations. More often in terms of the responses of minority people who with less political power represent complementary interests which are often regarded as conflicting interests of lesser importance. No one systematic program or procedure can be devised for recognizing and wisely dealing with imbalance, excess, exclusivity and disintegration. The people who devise and attend to any one systematic program or procedure are themselves likely to be blinded by or blind others with instances of imbalance, excess, exclusivity and disintegrative ideals/ideas/values within the systematic program or procedure. The key to the recognition of and wisely dealing with instances of imbalance, excess, exclusivity and disintegration is to be found in the patterns of communication and dialogue between persons representing dominant paradigms and other paradigms which are often regarded as: minority, conflicting, impotent, discredited, disproven, unproven, etc. Such recognition and wisdom will entail consideration of instances of personal: repression, suppression, exclusivity, rejection, excommunication, dishonesty, deception, alienation, estrangement, abuse, addiction, collusions and codependent support of the previous instances. In the light of these considerations it is essential that the communication rights of minorities be defended whenever their communications are regarded as offensive and dangerous by dominant people who are relatively more powerful than are the offending communicators. Any paradigm which fails to focus significant attention upon the importance of being in dialogue with those most profoundly critical of the paradigm is thereby a defective paradigm, and it should be viewed with suspicion and apprehension. The failure of a paradigm to focus significant attention upon the importance of being in dialogue with those most profoundly critically of the paradigm can be made evident by such critics focusing attention upon what is left out of the professional training programs of the paradigm in schools, colleges, universities and graduate training programs.
