Conceptions/images of such realities may be perverted to facilitate the conceptions/images being used in support of disintegrative goals. Such perverted conceptions/images confuse the nature of essentially integrative ideals, values and other positive realities. Generating confusion is often central to such perversions. When a hammer is used in a murder, the hammer is not perverted in any essential way; it is misused in a tragic way---but it is not itself changed, even though attitudes toward the hammer may be changed. When ideals, values, love, honesty, charity, and similar other positive realities are perverted---the conceptions/images of them are perverted so that the nature of the realities are confused. It is as if the nature of the hammer used in a murder had been changed/confused. After ideals, values, love, honesty, charity, and other similar positive realities have been perverted it is more difficult to regard them clearly and helpfully. Evil intentions, relationships and processes pervert ideals, values, love, honesty, charity, and similar other positive realities---in the process of using the positive realities as tools in alienative relationships and processes. How can the perversion of ideals, values, love, honesty, charity and similar other positive realities be recognized as being different from integrative affirmations and incarnations of them? Perversions of positive realities lead to alienation, disintegration, misunderstanding, resentment, anger, condemnations, judgmentalism---rather than to reconciliation, integration, mutual understanding, appreciation, affection, support, and reconciliation. Their perverse fruits are sour rather than sweet when the overall pattern which follows perversion is considered as a whole. We need to be careful not to accept all presentations of ostensibly good ideals, values, love, honesty, and charity, as being what they seem to be; especially within collusive communities and organizations where addictive and codependent tendencies have become dominant.
