Some forms of success, pride, satisfaction and fulfillment lead to personal and communal disintegration. So also some forms of guilt and same lead to personal and communal disintegration. We need to be able to recognize, name, describe and talk about such forms and what they lead to. Forms which lead to personal and communal disintegration usually entail: dishonesty, deception, secrecy, misleadings, confusions, ignorance, neglect, exclusivity, imbalance, frustration, anger, coercion, violence, alienation, and silence. Often disintegrative forms entail formal formulas which prescribe and proscribe what should or should not be done; rather than describe personally what has been done and what the consequent experiences have been, ment, and taught. Integrative forms lead to learning. Disintegrative forms do not lead to learning; but rather lead to repeated patterns of futility---even though there may seem to be some successes worthy of respect, pride, satisfaction, fulfillment and meaning. When we feel successful, satisfied, fulfilled and meaningful we need to consider carefully whether or not we are being true to ourselves and to each other with integrity in communities of integrity; for we may be perversely disintegrative in the manner of the popular and successful Nazi leaders in Germany. When we feel unsuccessful, dis-satisfied, unful- filled and meaningless we need to consider carefully whether or not our judgments have lead us to be people of integrity living within communities of integrity. Our judgments may have been based upon assumptions, attitudes, ideals, values, beliefs and ways of relating which lack both personal and communal integrity; and thus led us to where we are.
