We are not truly secure until we give each other the gift of being free to let go of defenses in a fail safe context. True security is the gift of a fail safe context wherein we feel free to let go of our defenses with peace in pleasure. We cannot create true security through defensive maneuvers; for in trying to create security for ourselves through defensive maneuvers we create insecurity for others. When we make others feel insecure, their insecurity leads them to act in ways which make us feel insecure. Security cannot be created at the expense of others. If we try to win security for ourselves at the expense of other's security; then we all become more insecure at each other's expense. Security cannot be taken away from others in order to have it for ourselves. Security can be given to others in order that we may enjoy it together. Security is not a possession which we can keep to ourselves at each other's expense. Security is a gift we can give to each other and enjoy with each other through generosity. Security is not a possession we can create and retain through any form of defense. By being defensive we undermine each other's security, and so we undermine our own security. When we are truly secure we can be true to ourselves and to each other. When we are not true to ourselves and to each other we are not secure. When we are true to ourselves and to each other we become secure in our true knowledge of ourselves and each other. When we are truly secure through giving and receiving gifts of security, we are free to let go of our defenses. When we let go of our defenses we are able to be truly secure through giving and receiving gifts of true security which transcends our defensive imaginations. True security is not achieved through defensive maneuvers which involve us in dishonesty. Dishonesty elicits insecurity. Honesty engenders security. Honesty is risky. Dishonesty is even more risky in the long run. Dishonesty leads to long term insecurity. Honesty leads to short term insecurity. Long term insecurity through dishonesty leads to arms races and global disintegration. Short term insecurity through honesty is risky, and can lead to peace and long-term security.
