We often achieve satisfaction through our ability to manipulate and control objects; and seek further emotional satisfactions through other achievements involving control. We seek to achieve control over our emotional states of being, and find we cannot control our frustrations when we cannot produce in ourselves and others the emotions which we seek to produce! We are frustrated when our proven ability to control objects does not transfer into an ability to control our emotions, expressions and relationships; whether they be our own or those of other persons. We may assume that our failures at achieving such desired control resides in lack of knowledge, understanding, dedication, effort, organization, analysis, persistent, etc. Due to such assumptions we keep trying to achieve control over what we cannot control. We need to work on learning how to describe the differences between what we can control with satisfaction, and what we cannot control with satisfaction. (c) 2005 by Paul A.
