There are many words which point to significantly different realities depending upon the context in which they are used; especially depending upon whether the context has to do with realities outside the person using the words, or has to to with realities inside the person using the words. Consider the words: understand, predict, control, analyze, love, manipulate, regulate, conform, discipline, desire, need, and attitude-toward. Consider what each word may reasonably be regarded as pointing to (or else meaning) depending upon whether the speaker is referring to self, or to other. The referent and/or the meaning is different in the reflexive context than it is in the objective context. The subtly of the differences becomes even more difficult to articulate when the words are used not only in reference to self alone, or to other alone; but also in reference to relationships between self and other, and to how self and other individually regard such relationships individually---and how self-other regard their individual ways of regarding themselves and their relationships. There is an endless progression of each one individually and together regarding antecedent levels of reflexivity. All of these considerations may exist in the absence of explicit words, verbalizations, articulations, languages, discussions, communications, and conversations; as well as within the presence of any/all of them. The presence of them can substantially increase the levels of complexity of reflexivity; and the difficulties in pointing with words to the increase in the levels of reflexivity. The ability of a being to understand, predict and control, and describe its own processes of understanding, prediction and control depends greatly upon the level of internal complexity of the being, and all that to which the being is related; and depends upon its ability to be aware of and articulate its own nature, and the nature of all else of which it is an integral part, and intimately related to. The less closely it is related to other than itself, the less informed it can be, and so the less able it is to articulate in depth the nature of all else than itself; and the less able it is to articulate the nature of its relationships with all else than itself. How able a being is to describe itself, others, and relationships between/among itself/others depends upon its attitudes towards itself, others, and relationships between/among itself/others. If it is dedicated to avoiding the spending of time giving consideration to some kinds of relationships between/among itself/others (as in the case of compulsive objectivists) the less able it will be to describe itself, others, and relationships between/among itself/others in comprehensive ways.
