Such acceptance and knowledge is associated with detachment from claims of superior authoritative knowledge based upon elements of the collusive system which has become attached in a controlling way to members of the collusive community. The coercive and repressive control of such attachment may be rejected in the serene tranquility of the relaxation of the manipulative clutch which maintains the compulsive focus and attachment. The attachment is maintained so long as the clutch of preoccupation is maintained. The clutch of the attachment may be let go, if the preoccupation is relaxed. A change in the reality of the dominance of the attachment flows from changes in attitudes towards the dominating reality. The resolution of conflicts within healthy communities is rooted in the honest acceptance of personal experiences and knowledge, so that individually members of the community own and affirm their own knowledge of their own experiences; and so are free to confirm to each other what they each know reflexively. Conflict between the knowledge of personal experience and the exclusive claims of dishonest authority continues so long as people are not honest in their acceptance of the authenticity of their own feelings, perceptions, desires, fears, hopes, and aspirations. It is important to acknowledge and own that which is real to us as being our own reality; even if it is only our own illusion which we may come to recognize as only our own illusion. We become free when we can own our illusions as our own with the recognition that they are illusions. We are in prison when we cannot own our own illusions as such. We are not imprisoned by what we openly and honestly own. We are imprisoned by that which is really our own but which we cannot transcend through honest acceptance of it as our own, in a way which sets us free to honestly affirm and confirm it as our own. We cannot communicate honestly with each other about our experiences and perceptions, if we cannot accept and acknowledge to ourselves in the privacy of our own reflection, those personal experiences of our own that threaten the collusions which govern our daily lives. We cannot confirm to each other that we share a common humanity if the elements of our common humanity are unacceptable to us in the privacy of our own reflection and meditation. Too often we seek to transcend our feelings of isolation by trying to be super-human. In such efforts we seek to transcend our common humanity which is the basis for transcending our isolation. In such efforts we can not with humility affirm the elements of our common humanity. Rather, we become preoccupied with our insecurity and conflicts which are rooted in our low self esteem and arrogance. Such a preoccupation does not cure itself. Concentrating always on your own low self esteem and insecurity does not eliminate the focus of your concentration. Our low self esteem and insecurity cease to trouble us when we concentrate instead upon authentic people and personal relationships. (c) 2005 by Paul A.
