We find frustration and despair in our mutual interactions to the extent that we try to manage each other in attempts to control/dominate each other in terms of our own assumptions and experiences which we regard as being of ultimate importance and validity. Our interactions become meaningful to the extent that we learn how to resolve the apparent conflicts between our complementary experiences and points of view. Our interactions become frustrating to the extent that we learn how to satisfy our own apparent needs at each other's expense. We live together on a finite planet in an immense void. The amount of space and substance here is limited; we must make do with what we have to work with together. Ultimately what each of us does will affect each other, because we live together on a finite planet in an immense void. To pretend that it is otherwise is to play games of mutual self deception and to undermine the possibility of wise decision making. In a closed finite system no component of the whole system can control the whole system. All finite closed systems are interactive and parts of a whole. No one part can be in control of the whole because all parts are ultimately reflexive in that what happens to any one part ultimately reflects back upon all other parts. The more power any one part has to influence other parts, the more powerful are the reflexive interactions. When any powerful part pretends otherwise, there is a destructive delusion out of touch with the reality of the finite system as a whole. (c) 2005 by Paul A.
