On the other hand a regular time for meditation may be a time to pray earnestly for personal and communal integrity which involve the escape from and/or avoidance of collusive games of mutual self deception. In a time for meditation we may focus in ways which put us in touch with our own experiences and unique potentialities. We may also read literature of indoctrination in a spirit which makes us victims of the exclusive view of the writers of the literature. Meditation can be a technocratic technique used by participants in a collusion to strengthen the bars of their mutual prison. Meditation can also be an occasion for authentic prayers for integration and reconciliation. Through meditation our misleading perceptions, ideals, values, concepts, assumptions, attitudes, etc. may be examined without the pressure of others seeking conformity to their particular conceptions and desires. Meditation can be an escape from others' efforts to be in control. For it to be creative in these ways it must not be under the control of others; whether through direct coercion or internalized directives which are in conflict with the ground of one's own being a unique and creative person. Meditation is not a time for argumentation and conflict. Meditation is not a time for contests over who shall have control; it is a time to find the way to transcend contests over having control. Meditation is a time to pray for integrity for persons and communities; a time for reconciliation of opposing views, not a time to determine which opposing view shall win a contest over who shall be in control. Truth is not found in exclusivity, but in integration of all inclusive insights. Meditation is a time to consider ways to become more honest and inclusive, not a time for determination of who shall be included among the favored. The rewards of meditation are personal and communal integrity; not admission to the exclusive club of the most favored and most powerful. No person can truly reward or punish people for what they do in meditation, for true meditation transcends the world of control which uses and abuses through rewards and punishments.
