     The  roots  of  the wave of modern  violence  may  be
traced  in  part  to the unbalanced  mix  of  professional
ideals  which  characterize   modern   graduate   schools'
educational programs.   The ideals which graduate  schools
teach  are  all  positive,   and  helpful  in  appropriate
contexts.   The flaw is in the mix,  not in the individual
ideals.    The professional recipes lack personal balance.
Because     of     their    imbalance    they     engender
depersonalization,   sexual discrimination,   frustration,
technocracy, and violence of many  forms.   The engendered
forms of violence include: organized crime, terrorism, the
