Mutual respect and trust in the absence of self respect so the paradigm must provide a basis for the development of self respect based upon an accurate and reliable self regard. People who do not know themselves honestly can not respect themselves or others, nor can they trust others with any confidence. Any paradigm which block the development of an accurate and reliable self regard in turn blocks the development of self and mutual respect and so blocks the development of trust among people. People who do not trust each other are prone to adopt defensive stances toward each other and develop technologies to attempt to achieve security by the elimination of points of vulnerability. Such manipulative efforts are likely to make use of objective scientific findings in order to achieve an objective understanding and control of elements in the line of defense. Reliance upon scientific paradigm and so greater reliance upon it as a basis for the guidance of efforts to achieve security and invulnerability. Scientists' paradigm is fundamentally objective and analytic in nature. To be objective in the analysis of problematic situations one must be careful not to let bias creep in through emotional personal involvement in the situation under analysis. To objectively avoid bias one must maintain an emotional distance between yourself and that which is the object of analysis, understanding, and control. Scientists objective paradigm by its very nature excludes the possibility of it serving as the basis for the development of trust among people because it blocks the development of self regard which is inherently a non- objective behavior. Focusing your attention upon yourself is not objective behavior; thus self respect is not objective behavior. Scientists' paradigm thus blocks behavior which is essential to the development of self respect; which is in turn essential to the development of mutual respect, mutual trust, cooperation, and world peace.
