To the extent that they focus their lives around non-personal concerns---they tend to be emotionally insecure, in need of personal affirmations. In their vulnerability they tend to respond affirmatively to any available source of congruent affirmations. Students may find respected teachers as the most powerful and readily available sources of affirmations, and respond affirmatively to those teachers who affirm their non-personal orientations and so encourage specialization in their non-personal orientation. Such specialization makes some students even more emotionally deprived and insecure, and so more defendant upon the teachers' affirmations which promote the non-personal specialization. The feed-back loop operates in ways which strengthens itself in a cumulative amplification effect. It is as if the squeaking of the feed-back on an audio amplifier activated a device to turn up the volume. Teachers who have become specialized in non-personal orientations tend not to affirm each other in very personally satisfying ways, because they are so impersonal. Good students who have not yet lost all their personal qualities are for such professors the most powerful and readily available sources of affirmations. Affirmation hungary professors thus respond affirmatively to those good students who affirm their non-personal orientation in more personal ways than other professors do. Such professional affirmations of the good students encourage those students to specialize in non-personal concerns and thus become more emotionally defendant upon professorial affirmations. that a student spends in high school, college, and graduate school. Because of the reciprocal dependency the most dependent students get the highest grades and become the most successful graduate students who develop the highest levels of dependency before becoming college professors themselves.
