People can't be fully human without some difficult problems which must be solved on an individual basis. All this cooperative effort makes problem solving much too easy. No individual has to work very hard on any problem because everybody gets into the act and comes up with helpful suggestions or assistance. Good ideas travel too far too fast because everybody is communicating with everybody. That is because everybody loves everybody else. With universal love, problems evaporate so quickly that they present no challenge, and life is boring. People don't seem to realize that life could be a lot more interesting if love were not so free and universal. Try to imagine, if you can, how interesting life would become if love were something which was precious because it was not so common place. If love was in short supply then people would be careful about giving it. Free flowing communication would not be so darn commonplace, and problem solving ideas would not get around so quickly. If communication was much less common then individuals would have a much better chance of being challenged by problems which they would have to solve as individuals. Life would not be so darn boring because there would be problems for which the solution would not show up so easily with little effort on the part of any one individual. Such an interesting world might be achieved by a policy of granting exclusive love rights. If each person could have the right to love and be loved by only one other person, then love would not be so commonplace, communication would be less common, and individuals would have to solve their problems on their own. Life would be far more challenging and interesting. Problems would last longer and stimulate human vitality more than now. Some may think that granting exclusive love rights might result in a few people getting left out with no love. That is inconceivable and absurd! Nobody would get left out. It is just that everybody would find life more challenging and we would no longer have so much boredom. It would be a far better world if each person could love and be loved by only one other person. There is not much risk in trying. If it didn't work we could quickly return to the status quo of universal love. (c) 2005 by Paul A.
