 %OPTIMISM PERSONAL RELATIONSHIPS FAILURES EXPECTED 971125
                                                          
     Some people are dominated by negative interpretations
of  the story of the Garden of Eden and original sin;  the
fallen  nature  of man.    They take it all to  mean  that
people  are  inherently  by nature untrustworthy,   to  be
suspected,   assumed  guilty until proven innocent,   etc.
They  regard  with  great  suspicion any   person  who  is
optimistic  about  people and about possible relationships
with strangers.     They usually  approach  new people and
relationships expecting that things will go wrong ---  and
sure  enough they do;  proving that their suspicions  were
well founded and their theology well founded.
