Prudent and wise teachings (and their like) are worthy of respect, honor, support and reverence ONLY within the context of humane relationships which are free of: domination, unilateral controls, arrogance, self- righteousness, terrorism, extremism, and imbalance --- within the roles played by those who affirm the prudent and wise teachings (and their like). It is never truly helpful for anyone to UNILATERALLY COERCE: 1. People into reciting statements which people do not truly believe and/or do not experience as meaningful statements within their own lives. 2. People into acting as if they respect: oppressive, repressive, arbitrary, capricious and/or prejudicial: laws, rules, commandments, prescriptions, proscriptions, commandments, rituals, judgments and/or punishments. 3. People into ignoring and/or dismiss their own: experiences, perceptions, emotions, unders- tandings, insights, intuitions, etc. --- because of demands made by domineering bullies. 4. People into conforming to prescribed patterns of behavior, speech or relationships --- which are not freely chosen as worthy of honor, respect, support and reverence. 5. People into avoiding engaging in proscribed: behaviors, speech, expressions, communications or relationships --- just because some person, persons or group of persons has forbidden them --- in ways which are: oppressive, repressive, arbitrary, capricious and/or prejudicial; i.e., without due-process. 6. People into participating in behaviors which are dishonest, addictive, collusive, codependent and/or abusive. 7. People into showing respect for or tolerating the above kinds of behaviors which are not helpful, and are alienative. (c) 2005 by Paul A. Smith in (On Being Yourself, Whole and Healthy) ==========================================================
