Bias 2. Prejudice 3. Capriciousness 4. Anger 5. Fickleness 6. Ignorance 7. Revenge 8. Idolatry 9. Blindness 10. Deafness 11. Insensitivity 12. Selfishness 13. Pretentiousness 14. Addiction 15. Collusion 16. Conspiracy 17. Contentiousness 18. Immaturity 19. Fear 20. Secrecy 21. Deception 22. Dishonesty 23. Instability 24. Insanity 25. Imbalance 26. Exclusivity 27. Over-specialization The persons who use the word "objective" with the above connotations are often committed to a paradigm which leads them to be describable in the above terms or their cognates. While it is desirable to avoid the presence of all that can be describe in the above terms---it is misleading to use the term "objective" as encompassing the absence of all that is discernible in terms of the above words and their cognates. People who are trying to be "objective" are committed to a paradigm which leads them to be exclusive and over- specialized in their approach to humans and human relationships. They pretend that their paradigm is more comprehensive than it is. They are often ignorant of and insensitive to the richness of diverse intimate human relationships. Often they are emotionally immature. They are rarely consciously seeking to achieve an over-all balance in the tone and focus of their lives. They rarely place much emphasis upon both personal and communal integrity. (c) 2005 by Paul A.
