Major changes entail resistance to change; and so entail conflict between people who are promoting the change, and people who are opposing the change. Major changes entail changes in: human ideals, ideas, values, goals, conceptions of propriety, standards for acceptability, standards for rejectability, patterns of passing judgement, and modes of punishment. Patterns of approach entail: attitudes, assumptions, habits, fears, apprehensions, desires, hopes and aspirations. Perception entails not only the physiology of the major modes of sensory perception, but also the processes of filtration through assumptions, presuppositions, beliefs, convictions, teachings, professional training, doctrines and dogmas. Recognition entails not only identification of a present reality which has been experienced before, but it also entails becoming aware of any new kind of integrity in the present reality which has not been acknowledged, named, described, talked about, written about, desired, hoped for, or feared in the past. Such recognition is both recognition and apprehension, and may make some people apprehensive in fear of the unknown which is not familiar. The process of first naming, describing, talking about and writing about each new and perhaps feared reality is the process of apprehension and recognition. The process is often embarrassing and threatening to those people who are not emotionally mature and secure in the presence of the true gifts of security which mature and creative people exchange freely with each other. Many human desires, hopes, aspirations, intentions and plans are threatening to others who are not ready for them. Part of the process of each major revolution is the process of people encouraging each other by their perceiving, recognizing, naming, describing, talking about and writing about the new: desires, hopes, aspirations, intentions and plans which they encounter in each other - -- within their most intimate relationships with each other. All such processes and realities are bound to be threatening, embarrassing, frightening and unwelcomed realities to insecure people who have not been offered and/or have not accepted the true gift of security which is the freedom to be safely vulnerable in each other's presence.
