Fearful people are often dangerously over-confident and are a tragic danger to people who are prudently cautious with greater wisdom. Fearful people have no interest in resolving conflicts with the enemies whom they seek to eliminate through ridicule, criticism, analysis, oppression, repression, violent combat, technological superiority, objective manipulations, moralistic judgmentalism, or legalistic procedures. Fearful people are not able to engage in friendly reflection, fellowship, prayer, cooperation, intimacy or sexual relationships wherein they would be vulnerable to others whom they fear. Fearful people are unable to conceive of the possibility of being offered and their accepting security as the freedom to be safely vulnerable within intimate relationships of friendly reflection, prayer, cooperation, fellowship, and/or honest sexuality. Fearful people seek to be in control and cannot tolerate experiences of not being in control---so they cannot get along with each other under any circumstances; they are always in conflict of some form or manner. Thus fearful people are perpetually preoccupied with issues of control: by whom, for whom, costing whom, how, why, how fully, how failing, etc. Fearful people fear all forms of imperfection which might be the grounds for their own rejections by others in the same manner as their own rejections of others. Fearful people seek to be sure of their futures through certain: understandings, knowledge, predictions, predictability, control, manipulations, and superiority. Fearful people seek to reduce their fears of confusion, complexity and ambiguity by reducing every thin and every body to its simplest elementary parts through: reductionism, fundamentalism, analysis, fragmentation, dichotomization, and violence. When fearful people fail in their endeavors of repression they become depressed and paralyzed; and unable to function effectively in the crises which they systematically create and cannot understand or transcend. Fearful people regard all dilemmas and crises as if they are essentially technical problems which are problematic challenges to their abilities to be in control. Fearful people do not recognize that their dilemma is finding how to transcend fear and no longer being driven and lead by fear --- by learning to trust those people who are trustworthy because they are people of integrity who have already transcended the tragedies generated by fear.
