If we are lead by such a dichotomous perception of being ourselves in the real world, we are likely to be preoccupied with determining of which "kind" each thought, desire, emotion, expression, decision or action is "in reality" apart from our being ourselves. We are also likely to be preoccupied with determining of which "kind" each other person is, and whether each other person will rub off their "kind of being" upon us. We then seek to associate with the good "kind", and avoid the bad "kind". The dichotomous thinking which flows from the above kinds of assumptions lead to our personal and communal disintegration. Some people find it impossible to believe that in some instances; some thought, desire, emotion, expression, decision, or action which they regard as a key to salvation---is in some circumstances a lock blocking the way to salvation for a different person in a different circumstance; or vice versa. This is a hard paradox to accept in open and honest conversations; at least for an insecure person seeking a technical ground for achieving security. (c) 2005 by Paul A.
