Some things appear to be beyond question; beyond the power of the child to know or change. In some families the child does not learn the difference between objective realities (which cannot be changed by any humans, regardless of how much power the humans have) and some subjective realities (which the child does not have the power to influence in meaningful and significant ways)---but which adults do have the power to influence in meaningful and significant ways. The child needs to learn about that difference which can make quite a difference in adult life. If a child confuses objective realities with some subjective realities which the child as child could not change, then the adult to which the child gives birth will not know the difference between objective realities which cannot be changed and subjective realities which the adult can change. The adult to which the child gives birth may become a scientist who is unable to recognize the difference between unchangeable laws which describe objective processes, and the changeable patterns of human behavior which are reflexive, and can be changed with appropriate reflection which is reflexive rather than objective. The scientist is preoccupied with objects which can be manipulated. The scientists does not devote much attention to trying to change what is believed to be beyond the range of human influence to change. The scientist whose inner child failed to learn the difference between objective realities which cannot be changed, and subjective relationships between people which can be changed, is prone to fail to try to change dysfunctional subjective relationships within the scientific community, which can be changed in ways found through appropriate reflection, meditation and prayer.
