Necessity and sufficiency. Cause and effect. Control and submission. "Being-between" seeks to point to that which words cannot point to with clarity. All particular words fail to point adequately, for all words invite the receiver to make inappropriate assumptions. "Being-between" here does not necessarily mean or point to being at a mid-point in a geometric sense. Being- between only excludes being exclusively at either extreme. Being-between here does not necessarily mean or point to being somewhere on a straight line running from one extreme to the other extreme; but being-between does not exclude that possibility. Being-between means being without dichotomous limitations. Being-between entails being free with integrity which transcends dichotomous splits. Just as being-between is not achieved or found by movement towards a dichotomous pole, just so it is not achieved or found by striving to move away from a dichotomous pole. Preoccupation with either pole of a dichotomy does not lead to the transcendence of the dichotomy. Preoccupations with dichotomies do not lead to integrity. Dichotomies exist; but neither dichotomies nor their individual poles are the focus of preoccupations of people who are being themselves with integrity in the midst of many dichotomies.
