Individuals and communities try to control the behavior of members of the community. Conformity to explicit and particular patterns of behavior is expected and required in ways which elicit misleading behaviors that lead to personal and communal disintegration. It is not easy to articulate and demonstrate behavioral standards which do not lead people into coercive/conformal patterns of behaving. Non-coercive behavioral standards call for authentic behavior which promotes both personal and communal integrity. Misleading behavior is not encouraged by non- coercive behavioral standards; and when misleading behavior is observed it is recognized as such and pointed out to be misleading. Exposure of misleading behavior as being disintegrative is essential to the integrity of the community. Misleading behavior should not be respected; instead it should be gently exposed for what it is. (c) 2005 by Paul A.
