Feelings of guilt make it difficult to tell the difference between the natural consequences of our decisions and actions on the one hand, and the contrived consequences brought about by the way that participants in conformal collusions think, speak and behave. Participants in collusive games of mutual self deception make each other feel guilty if there is any suggestion of deviation from the deceptive rules of their mutual game. Guilt is a tool used by conformists to threaten each other into conformity which lacks personal and communal integrity. Communal freedom from guilt sets people free to be creative and wise in dealing with new challenges which threaten the integrity of a community and/or the integrity of its members. Guilt can not be used as a means to promote creativity in dealing with new circumstances: guilt can only be used to promote conformity to traditional (perhaps outdated) patterns of behavior. Guilt generates confusion about natural causes and effects. Guilt makes any analysis of the dynamics of natural process serve the deceptive purposes of the collusions which generated the guilt. Guilty people are participants in and/or victims of the collusions which generate the guilt. People who do not feel guilty are free to be open and honest about the dynamics of natural causes and consequences. Yet, they must be careful when dealing with participants in collusions, lest they needlessly threaten the participants in the games of mutual self deception. Threats harden colluders' dedication to their games, and their games are matters of ultimate concern and salvation. Threats do not promote clear thinking. Threats merely intensify the feelings of guilt of the participants in the collusive violence to truth, honesty, openness, intimacy, security, tranquility, serenity and peace. Such violence leads to feelings of guilt among people who are addicted to trying to gain control of their lives by trying to control each other through the use of some powerful technology, means, chemical, procedure, ritual, doctrine, dogma, institution, etc. (c) 2005 by Paul A.
