When a puzzle which has some pieces missing is integrated there are holes in the puzzle where the missing pieces belong, and it is clear that the puzzle still lacks integrity. It is difficult to put a puzzle together if you cannot recognize the size, shape, color, and other essential characteristics of the pieces; and if you can not recognize the complementary shapes of pieces which belong together. The puzzle of how best to promote personal and communal integrity has many pieces. Due to our illusions, delusions, collusions, fears, etc. we may not be able to recognize the reality, nature, complementary nature of, inter-relations among, etc. of the pieces of the puzzle of which we are aware. Even when we have done our best to integrate the pieces into a coherent whole there may be holes left in the whole, indicating that perhaps we can not see some of the pieces of the puzzle for one reason or other; perhaps because we are compulsively dedicated to reason, logic, objectivity, etc. It is difficult to piece together the pieces of a puzzle if your highest values and ideals lead you to believe compulsively that certain pieces of the puzzle can not possibly exist; e.g., reflexive and spiritual realities and relationships which can not be objectively verified. People who believe that all pieces of the puzzle must be objectively real and verifiable---will not be able to deal wisely with integrating into the whole puzzle those relationships among people which are reflexive and so essentially not objective. Compulsively objective people can not integrate into their lives the pieces of the puzzle of life having to do with reflexive personal relationships, of which there are many. Analysis has to do with taking things apart. People who are compulsively analytic may not recognize the value of the complementary process of integration, and so many times they refuse to participate in integrative because they do not recognize the importance and value of integration and integrity.
