                    %CONFLICTING COOPERATING IDEALS 860530

     It is difficult for people dominated  by  conflicting
ideals   to   cooperate  profoundly.    To  fulfill  their
conflicting ideals such  people must be in  conflict  with
each other.  Such people often have as one of their ideals
getting other people to support their "own" ideals.   Jack
wants Jill to support Jack's ideals.  Jill wants  Jack  to
support  Jill's ideals.   Each  tries  to succeed  through
coercion,  repeatedly fails,  and learns nothing  from the
failures.   Their  vicious  cycles  of violence  offer  no
