     Repetition   plays   an   important  role   in   both
intellectual    learning    and    in     non-intellectual
affirmations.   Affective learning is promoted by repeated
affective  affirmations on the part of emotionally  mature
role-models.    Emotional  maturity  is  not  produced  by
parading  an emotionally mature person before  emotionally
immature  persons  just one time.   Emotional maturity  is
promoted  by many occasions of holistic  dialogue  between
growing emotionally mature persons and others who are less
emotionally  mature.   Repeated involvement in  meaningful
dialogue is an essential aspect of emotional  growth---and
cannot  be replaced by lectures,  reading  books,   rules,
laws, punishments, rewards, etc.

     Repetition  of  affective  affirmations  is  commonly
neglected  in sexual education---because of the  emotional
immaturity  of many who attempt to offer sexual education.
It  is  difficult  to  affirm that  about  which  you  are
embarrassed---that which is not an aspect of your personal
integrity.    It  is very difficult for sexually  immature
persons of any age to offer meaningful sexual education to
young  people  who are seeking meaningful sexual maturity.
Those   who   are  inexperienced  in   meaningful   sexual
relationships  cannot meaningfully  affirm  loving  sexual
relationships---especially     not     effectively     and
repetitively.

     The  absence  of relaxed repetition  of  affirmations
will convey  the message that affirmations are  made  with
less  than  full integrity---and so the  affirmations  are
doubted.  Powerful  affirmations are made in the course of
every-day  living  patterns,  and so  occur  repetitively.
Affirmations   which   are  made  only   formally   and/or
occasionally  are likely to be relatively impotent.    For
this reason, formal instruction regarding integral aspects
of life, such as sexual relationships, is often relatively
ineffective  because the essential affective  affirmations
are  not  made  repetitively,  with integrity,  and  in  a
